What’s going on here anyway? What I read and what I think.
I read a lot and listen to many books on CD while I am walking or working around the house and yard. I needed a place to keep track of and comment on my reading and this is it.
I’m trying to read (and listen) widely, exploring new authors as I go. My reads are not necessarily just released or on any best seller list. I take suggestions from library members at the circ desk where I work, from friends, and from reviews that I see online. I tend to read at the “shallow end” of the library’s offerings.
My reading range goes from juvenile fiction through young adult fiction to adult fiction of almost any genre, and adult nonfiction. Books that I can’t get into (literally, I give them about 30-50 pages) don’t get a mention here–they may be great or seriously awful, but I’ll never know.
My listening picks are usually from the shelves of my local library or from books on CD that cross the circ desk. Here I tend to read mysteries and adrenaline reads–materials that I probably wouldn’t pick up in book form –I have very different listening and reading tastes. My main criteria (isn’t criteria plural?) is that the CDs aren’t too scratched to load into my computer.
This is a work in progress and hopefully is getting better as I go along. Inspired by a mock-up photo of a library with two book drops–one for books and one for “amazing” books,
I’ve just recently added two tags: THUMBS UP and TWO THUMBS UP for great and super great reads.
So, Welcome, stay tuned, and come back often.
May peace prevail on Earth, Anne
